Jeremy Pena hit a solo home run in the 5th inning to start the scoring and give the Astros a 1-0 lead.
Juan Soto drove in a run for the Mets to tie the game at 1-1 in the top of the 6th inning.
The Astros answered and took the lead in the bottom of the 6th when Yordan Alvarez doubled scoring Isaac Paredes from 1st base to make the score 2-1.
Spencer Arrighetti earned his first win of the season, pitching 6 innings and allowing only 1 hit and 1 run.
The Astros bullpen held the Mets scoreless in the 7th and 8th innings.
Josh Hader pitched the 9th and picked up his second save of the season with the potential tying run Juan Soto left on second base to end the game.
